What is it? In 2012 London hosted the Olympic games. As a result the east end of London was transformed from derelict wasteland into one of the hottest sports venues in the World and now it’s open to the general public.
Why go? Well, there’s plenty to do for starters, from swimming in the Olympic swimming pool, dive from the diving board, take a tour of the London Stadium (now home to West Ham Football Club), or visit one of the many restaurants and 100s of shops in Westfield, you really can get lost in this place!. exotic birds). 3 – Canoeing, Kayaking & Rafting
What is it?. Lee Valley White Water Centre, the venue for watersports during London 2012, offers several boat-based activities including canoeing, kayaking and rafting.
Why go? OK, so slight disclaimer, its slightly out of London in Hertfordshire BUT it sure beats falling in the Thames and swigging a mouthful of the city’s finest river water! The water here is clear and the facilities are top notch
4 – Go-Karting
What is it? Looking for a thrill ride, why not head to Mile end for the ultimate thrill ride on a purpose built outdoor floodlit go-karting track!
Why go? From private hire, parties to corporate events wingin it round the floodlit course is bound to get the blood pumping as you and your friends go head to head to see who can clock the fastest lap and take u;timate bragging rights.
5 – Scuba Diving
What is it? Did someone say Scuba Diving in London? that’s right you can actually Scuba dive smack bang in the centre of the City of London – Garden lane Leisure centre invites everyone from beginners to experienced divers to join their club.
Why go? OK, so it’s not exactly the great barrier reef however – what better way to brush up on your scuba skills, earn your PADI and be fully prepared when you’re overseas. The club also arrange an annual trip for its members to put your scuba skills into action
