CBD Oil for depression: Does it help?

Over 16 million Americans suffer from depression, a disorder that can leave you feeling emotionally exhausted, draining your energy and motivation for everyday life. If you suffer from depression, you may already be familiar with how ineffective most treatments for it are. Though they sometimes alleviate your symptoms, they come with a host of dangerous side effects. Sometimes, they even worsen your depression, making you feel worse than when you started. If this is all sounding far too familiar, you may want to try CBD oil.

What is CBD oil?

CBD oil is an all natural, plant-based extract that has been noted for its incredible effectiveness for treating diseases like Epilepsy and Parkinson’s. However, it’s also been only recently legalized, and some states will require a medical license for you to obtain it.

What does CBD oil do?

Most notably, CBD oil has a relaxing, calming effect on users. It doesn’t leave them incapicatated, and allows the mind to stay focused on conscious activities that it’s engaged in.

It’s also been reported to have effects that allow it to help users fight depression. Studies have shown that it increases serotonin receptors in the brain. Serotonin is the hormone responsible for feelings of happiness, wholesomeness, and general well-being. Notably, depression is often linked to reduced serotonin receptors, or decreased amounts of serotonin in the brain.

CBD oil is also non-addictive, meaning that you can take it as regularly as you want, and quit it at any time with ease. This also means that it is difficult to develop a tolerance to, and can be taken with the expectation that the dose you’re comfortable with is the dose you can remain at. However, make sure you experiment with small amounts at first, to ensure you don’t take too much. A larger dose can leave you feeling sick, and may negatively impact you.

CBD can be taken in its pure, oil-based form. This is the most common, though other products have an unpleasant taste.  Our CBD Oil is flavor-free and loved my millions.

However, before taking any kind of CBD product, make sure you consult a physician first. CBD can interact negatively with many medications, causing adverse side effects.
