We’ve Learned The Secret Longevity Of The Oldest Man In The World

Francisco Núñez Olivera, the oldest man on the planet and the so-called “grandfather of the world,” died last week at the age of 113.

He liked having a simple and quiet life, and he did not liked changes. This is why he lived all years of his life in Bienvenida – the same small Spanish town where he was born in 1904. As he once said three years before his death, “I still don’t feel old, I’m old, but I’m not old.”

So, how did he manage to live such a dignified and long life? Read on to find out.

Olivera drank a glass of red wine a day, according to the Spanish newspaper ‘The Local’’. He ate vegetables which he cultivated in his garden himself and every night he went for a walk before going to bed at 8pm.

But many nights he was changing his schedule and slept at a latter time, as he liked to talk with his 81-year-old daughter. Although he had no teeth from the 1970s, until the last dawn of his life he chose milk and cake for breakfast, fish or boiled pot for lunch, yogurt for snacks and hot cereals for dinner.

There are certain foods that can help you live longer and these foods do not include the ones Olivera was eating. Perhaps his good genes (his brother is 95 and his sister 93), the complete absence of stress, the fact that he was exercising a lot (since he was cultivating his own vegetables) and the fact that he was eating organic vegetables helped him live that long.

According to FoodNurish, exercising, eating in moderation and combining various super-foods in your diet, is the secret of many centenarians.

His daughter said he had a simple daily routine, did not disagree with his family and enjoyed the good life, which revolved around the field, his house and the village bar.

Olivera himself once said that the secret of longevity is “working hard, not being weak and staying at home.”

We don’t know how good life is combined with the loneliness of the house, but who are we to question the advice of the oldest man in the world?

In addition to having excellent genes (his brother is 95 and his sister 93), Olivera took care of it without further ado for his fitness. His diet was filled with probiotics, which boost the immune system, but also with red wine, which is filled with antioxidants, that fight free radicals and protect against heart disease.

That’s a longevity secret we want to adopt!
